Newsletter 2, Autumn 2017

NEWSLETTER,

Autumn Term 2, 2017

We hope you all enjoyed your half term break. We are back busier than ever, looking forward to the Christmas festivities. The children have already enjoyed making fantastic Christmas pictures to be made into cards, which are in pre-school now for parents to view.

Some parents may have noticed changes to the set up in the room recently. We have introduced more defined learning areas for the children within the room, including a full time cooking area. We are also waiting for work to begin on the garden so we can fully implement our Forest School sessions. With this in mind, there has been lots of staff training recently, but the most exciting is that Marie is now a certified Forest School Teacher!!

AGM

As a registered charity, we are required to hold an Annual General Meeting once a year. This year, it will be held on Tuesday 28th November, 7,45 for 8pm start. We will be seeking a volunteer to take over the role of Treasurer, and appeal to parents to come along and get involved. A poster and copy of the Agenda will be emailed to all parents, so please share with friends and family. We would be interested in hearing from anybody within the wider community who may have skills to offer and would like to get involved.

Christmas

Christmas Nativity, Party and visit from Father Christmas, Friday 15th December

The Nativity and Party will be held on Friday 15th December. All children are to be accompanied by an adult, (unless it is their usual day) and are asked to arrive at the hall at 11:15am, for the Nativity to start at 11.30am. Siblings are welcome to attend but please bring a small, labelled gift from Father Christmas.

The party will run from approximately 12 noon. Please bring a plate of party food to share between all children; there is a list in pre-school for you to indicate what you will be bringing. Please NO NUTS in any form.

We will be holding a Grand Christmas Raffle and would appreciate donations for this. We will not be running a Bingo this Christmas. We would also be grateful of any help in the kitchen before the performance, making the teas and coffees and selling cakes. Also, donations of mince pies, cakes etc, on the morning would be appreciated.

THE PRE-SCHOOL WILL CLOSE AT 1PM ON THIS DAY.

Christmas Christingle, Wednesday 6th December

This is a short telling of the Christmas story, and blessing, to celebrate Christmas. Parents will be welcome to join in on the day so please make a note of the date below. All children are welcome to attend, but if it is not their normal day, they must be accompanied by an adult.

The Christingle will be held in the Village Church, and kindly led by Ros who the children know well as she comes in most Tuesday and reads with them. The children will have their snack at the church, with hot drinks available for parents before returning to pre-school for lunch. We will leave pre-school at approximately 9.30 for the service at 10am.

Can we please remind all parents, invoices are due within 2 weeks. We rely heavily on the prompt payment of fees, but please come and speak to Marie if you have any questions or concerns.
